PAPHOS - in the antiquity, there were two settlements on the territory of Paphos: Old Paphos and New Paphos. Today New Paphos is inhabited and is the the fourth largest city in Cyprus. The city has a rich history: it was under Roman rule, Turkish, Venetian and British rule. From every age wonderful relics of the past have been preserved, thanks to which the city is entered onto the UNESCO World Heritage List. The unique floor mosaics in Roman villas are famous - one of the best-preserved in the region of the Mediterranean Sea. Today, Paphos is a renowned resort with gorgeous sandy beaches, of which there are more than 20 here. Many of them are distinguished by the Blue Flag certificate. For amateurs of shopping an attractive offer in the centre of Paphos has been prepared: shops and shopping centres with the best foreign companies and local goods. An ideal combination of history, historical monuments, beautiful landscapes and a pleasant climate.
LIMASSOL – the second biggest city in Cyprus, over Akrotiri bay, between the ancient cities of Amathus and Kurion, at the foot of the Troodos mountains with wineries, from where comes the most famous Cypriot dessert wine Commandaria, apparently remembering the times of Richard the Lionheart. This king's wedding took place in Limassol. An unforgettable experience is taking part in the joyful Wine Festival in September. There is a lovely old town here, the Archeological Museum worth recommending, the largest aquapark on the island Fasouri Watermania and a port from where cruise ships depart to Israel and Egypt. Numerous hotels, taverns, pubs and discos are located in the seaside district that stretches out for approx. 10 km. Well-maintained, sandy beaches have a greyish yellow colour and gently shelving beach.
LARNAKA – the third largest city in Cyprus in terms of size, an important tourist and port centre. In the heart of Larnaka there are remains of the ancient city-kingdom Kition from the 12th century B.C. This is also the place where St. Lazarus came to experience a "second" life, after he was resurrected. On Lazarus' grave a church was erected under his invocation. The salt lake nearby is a favourite spot of rest for thousands of birds that migrate in the winter, and on its shore is located the popular place for Muslim pilgrimages Hala Sultan Tekke. Along the beach that is covered in a dark sand there is a teeming-with-life, particularly at night, palm tree seaside boardwalk with numerous taverns, cafes, restaurants and shops. Numerous watersport centres are located on the beach.
JEEP SAFARI AKAMAS – a trip up country, to the last undeveloped corner of Cyprus island – the wild Akamas peninsula. In the programme: sea caves - mysterious stone formations, in which water has carved many caves and nooks, a fantastic spot for photos! Avakas Gorge: the deep canyon is famous for its walls of limestone, which create a natural tunnel. Visiting Lara beach. Regional lunch (included in the price of the trip). Visit to the Baths of Aphrodite. Further on, the route goes to the north-western coast with beautiful views, through olive groves and citrus orchards. NIKOZJA – KERYNIA - BELLAPAIS – a trip for those who would like to see one of the most romantic places on the island, until recently unaccessible, still found under Turkish occupation. Visiting the southern part of Nicosia: St. John's Cathedral - the most important Orthodox church in Nicosia, Archbishop's Palace (from the outside), the old town of Nicosia with charming narrow streets and souvenir shops. During free time it is possible to cross the border in Nicosia and stroll around the occupied side of the city. Kyrenia is a fabulous port town, surrounded by the Pentadaktylos Mountains. Right by the seashore there is an impressive fort from the Venetian times. In the dungeons of the fortress there is a shipwreck (one of the oldest in the world), which sunk in unknown circumstances by the shore of the city and was discovered only in 1967. Exploring Bellapais abbey, established in 1200, from where a wonderful view of the northern coast extends. Passport or ID required. Visiting St. Nicholas gothic church, named Cyprus Notre Dame cathedral for a reason Free time on the golden beaches of Famagusta. Drive by the ghost city, where from behind barbed wire you can take a glance of the deserted part of Famagusta, which once was a fashionable tourist resort on the island. PAPHOS, KURIUM I WIOSKA OMODHOS – touring Paphos: St. Paul's pillory and archaeological park with mosaics (Dionysus' house). Travel to the ancient city of Kurium, where you can see the enormous Greek theatre and House of Eustolios with the first Christian mosaics. Visiting the village of Omodhos - visiting the church where there is the relic of the Holy Cross, and tasting exquisite wines in the local winery, free time. Stop at Petra Tou Romiou - the birthplace of Aphrodite. During the stop you can admire the wonderful scenery of this area and take photos. TROODOS MOUNTAINS AND KYKKOS MONASTERY - a trip for those who would like to see the true face of Cyprus and an opportunity to take a closer look at the mountainous villages. In the programme: Lania village - inhabited by artists, it is known for its traditional stone houses and narrow cobbled streets; possibility to taste two original Cypriot alcoholic drinks - Commandaria wine and grape vodka - Zivania; photo stop. Travel to the richest and most famous monastery in Cyprus - Kykkos. The monastery boasts the icon of Madonna, coated in 24-carat gold, decorated with silver and pearls, painted by St. Luke. Travel to Troni - the burial place of the first resident of Cyprus - Makarios, which is watched over by guards. On the return journey, stop in Chrysorrogiatissa - a gorgeous monastery with one monk and cellar full of excellent wine (purchase possible).
