Imagine the most beautiful places in the world. Original nature, animals grazing on a seemingly endless Savannah, tropical rain forests, towering, snow-capped mountain peaks. The sun burned deserts reaching the horizon, quiet mountain valleys, coral reefs, untouched white beaches with coconut palm trees, the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

Tribes, which live like their ancestors and maintain customs unchanged for centuries. Lively cities. Places that invite you to new adventures, holidays, exploring unknown cultures, and sports. A country situated on both sides of the equator, on the east coast of Africa, by the Indian Ocean. Everything here is amazing - from the people and their customs to the wildlife and climate. The greatest tourist attraction of Kenya are the scenic national parks, the most famous are: Masai Mara, Tsavo East and Tsavo West, Amboseli. During the safari, from the car windows you can observe wild animals living free in their habitats: elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, zebras, buffalo, many species of antelope and gazelle, monkeys, ostriches, hippos, rhinos, crocodiles, and many, many others. Enthusiasts of ornithology will surely be impressed by the large number of exotic birds: the amazing in its appearance secretary bird, vultures, marabou stork, ibises, and hornbills. Gorgeous African landscapes, diverse wildlife at your fingertips, fabulous beaches and warm ocean, friendly residents, and the omnipresent exotic will charm all those interested in the Dark Continent.
The north coast of Mombasa – offers great conditions for spending wonderful holidays: charming hotels, restaurants with delicious specialties of the international cuisine, and many opportunities for watersports. It is also worth seeing the city of Mombasa with Fort Jesus and the old port Dhow.
The south coast of Mombasa - Diani Beach - located to the south of Mombasa, in the shade of coconut palm trees, infinitely long and wide beach with fine white sand. It is ideal for long walks and has excellent conditions for watersports. During the sea high tides, which repeat daily, the water covers the beaches on both coasts for a few hours.
Malindi – city located approx. 120 km to the north of Mombasa. A well-known tourist resort, especially among the Italians and the French, to whom the resort owes some of the best pizzerias and ice-cream parlours in this part of Africa. Tourists are also attracted by the coral reef and two marine national parks: Watamu and Malindi Marine. Malindi is also a lively, historic city with the old district of Swahili, ruins and a busy market with local products. When sailing to India, Vasco da Gama supposedly stopped in Malindi on a short layover, to hire a guide to India in 1498. He then erected a column, the remains of which have been preserved in the gulf. A year later, the Portuguese began to trade with the local population, and the port served as a stop on the way to India.

Visas: Polish citizens entering Kenya must apply for a visa. The visa can be obtained online through the eVisa internet platform. Kenyan authorities have implemented an electronic visa system - eVisa. The visa fee is 51 USD/person, payments can be made using VISA or Mastercard (credit card payment is not possible). The passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of return to Poland and must have at least two blank pages. Persons under the age of 16 and those transiting through Kenya who do not leave the international airport zone are exempt from the requirement to possess an e-visa.
NOTE!
Through the eVisa system, you can apply for a tourist visa, for a single entry stay of up to 90 days. The online visa application is available at: http://evisa.go.ke/evisa.html
The instruction for the Kenyan visa application is available here.
Names and addresses of hotels for the visa application are available here.
The visa must be printed and brought to the airport.

Flight time: Poland - Mombasa - 10 hours.

Local time: Polish time plus 2 hours.

Official languages: Swahili and English.

Capital: Nairobi.

Currency: Kenyan shilling (KSH), 1 USD = 123 KSH, 1 EUR = 130 KSH. When bringing dollars, remember that only banknotes issued after 2006 are accepted.

Electricity: 220-240 V, square plugs with three pins. Adapters are needed and can be purchased at any hotel (about 100 KSH).

Local excursions: organized by local tourist agencies under conditions determined by them. It is possible that a trip will not be organized due to a small number of interested persons.

Climate: equatorial with a dry season from November to March, a rainy season from April to June, and a hot season from July to September.

Vaccinations: No mandatory prophylactic vaccinations are required when entering Kenya, but WHO recommends vaccinations against yellow fever, infectious hepatitis type A and B, diphtheria, tetanus, and polio. The lack of such vaccinations does not prevent one from deciding to travel to Kenya. We suggest taking anti-malaria prophylaxis, and the medication is available only with a prescription, and it should be taken before departure. It is necessary to have mosquito repellents.

Beaches: The sand is pristine white, and the water is crystal clear. Kenya is characterized by very high tides of the Indian Ocean.

Tipping: It is often obligatory in many places. On safari, a tip is given to the driver and local pilot. Tips are given to hotel porters for carrying luggage on the day of arrival and on the day of departure, about 60 KSH.

Notes: There is an absolute ban on exporting shells, ivory, coral, and animal skins from Kenya.

SAFARI
National Parks: These are vast areas of land (10-15,000 km²) where animals live in their natural habitat. There is no human activity in the parks, no electricity (except for lodges), no paved roads, and only minibusses or jeeps are allowed to move around on designated dirt roads, and under no circumstances should one leave the vehicle.
Minibuses: 8-seater minibuses are used for travel in the parks. The driver is also a guide, knows all the national parks well, and has extensive knowledge of wild animals, which he can track perfectly. The minibuses are not air-conditioned, but they have a raised roof, which provides ventilation, allows for wildlife observation, and taking standing photos.
Clothing: Safaris usually take place from 6:00-8:00 and 16:00-18:00, which are the best hours for observing animals. Mornings can be chilly (14-18°C), and one should dress accordingly (long-sleeved shirt). Open sports sandals are recommended.
Luggage: Only hand luggage: a small bag or backpack with the most necessary things can be taken on safari, as there is not much space in the minibus for luggage. The main luggage can be left free of charge in the hotel's deposit.
