This exotic island on the Indian Ocean, located approx. 900 km east of Madagascar, today has become a synonym for luxurious holidays. It is only approx. 60 km long and approx. 40 km wide, and there are so many amazing places that you could divide them among many large countries!   Dreamlike sandy beaches with a total length of approx. 300 km are some of the most beautiful in the world, and the excellent conditions for watersports attract enthusiasts of water sports here.  The symbol of Mauritius is the dodo bird, an endemic species, which occurred only in Mauritius. Its image is reproduced on t-shirts, postcards, and even on the visa stamp and postage stamps. It is from Mauritius that the most famous postage stamps in the world come from, which can cost a fortune. Their treasured copies can be seen in the Blue Penny Museum in Port Louis - the capital of the island.
The most visited by those who love anything associated with a romantic paradise, and well-known from postcards, is the region of Grand Baie, a destination situated in the north of Mauritius. This place definitely satisfies the dreams of ideal holidays. There are great hotels here, fantastic restaurants, an intense night life, exclusive boutiques - everything perfectly integrated into the paradise landscape of unique beauty. Cafes with delicious seafood, sensual Creole music, discos and parties until dawn. And to add to this, excellent conditions for diving, sunken wrecks, coral reefs and a whole infrastructure - everything you need for watersports. Not far from Grand Baie there is Point aux Canonniers, a historical place with a lighthouse and a gorgeous beach.  One of the most beautiful places in Mauritius is the Le Morne Brabant Peninsula, in the south-western part of the island, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its showcase is the majestic Le Morne Brabant mountain with a height of 556 metres above sea level. Lined along the coast are gorgeous white, sandy beaches, framed by green palm trees. The crystal-clear, turquoise ocean invites you to swim and to snorkel on the coral reefs. On the peninsula are fantastic, luxurious hotels, and one of the attractions is the beautiful, 18-hole golf course, situated between the Ocean and Le Morne mountain. Moving to the east coast, worth recommending is the region of Belle Mare with endless beaches, luxurious hotels, a golf course and a coral reef. The most beautiful computer wallpaper is Mauritius, it is worth taking a trip to see that a holiday paradise really exists.
