Batumi, oh, Batumi - the words of the old song are almost invariably associated with the most famous Georgian resort by the Black Sea. Hospitable residents, superb climate, wonderful surroundings, beautiful sea, excellent cuisine, delicious wines and interesting folklore cause tourists from all over the world to come here more and more.

The unique climate of the Georgian coast is the effect of the Great Caucasus, which effectively stops the northern chill. Batumi is a town where you can successfully combine an active form of rest and classic relaxation under the sun. In strolling around the city, it is worth visiting the Seaside Park, Botanical Garden, the University, the Turkish mosque, synagogue, eclectic villas and the Dolphinarium. There is an increasing number of modern hotels being erected here, including famous international hotel chains. The beaches here are shingle and rocky. The boardwalk and surroundings of Batumi are a nice scenery for long strolls by the sea or on paths surrounded by citrus trees. In the summer Batumi is vibrant. Local pubs, taverns and restaurants gather lively and international crowds late into the night. Kobuleti is a unique green and charming town, with a stunning 12-km long beach with an uncommon sand here. Aristocratic residences have been built here since the 19th century. The extremely beautiful surroundings invite you to explore. The region of Adjara is famous for its well-preserved fortifications, palaces and religious buildings erected in the 1st and 2nd centuries. In Gonio there is a huge, 18-tower stronghold of thick walls. Georgians are very cordial and hospitable. It often happens that they invite tourists to their homes to enjoy a meal or drink a glass of wine. In Georgia, there is the tradition of supra, that is a feast by a sumptuous table, of which a mandatory component is poetic toasts. They are raised above all with wine, but also vodka, never with beer. Cultivation of vines started here already in the 7th century B.C. In local basements lie wonderful and world-famous white, red and fortified wines. And in domestic conditions wine is made from own harvested fruits.
