Description
1. DAY. Collection of participants at the airport. Direct flight to Rhodes. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation. Depending on the time of arrival: free time. Dinner, overnight.
2. DAY. ASKLEPION - KOS - MYLOTOPI - KEFALOS / ZIA (route: approx. 180 km) Breakfast. Check out. Morning ferry crossing to the island of Kos. Visiting the ASKLEPION, the remains of the temple of the god Asclepius, which served as a medical center in Roman times. This place was created by Hippocrates himself and now it is the biggest attraction of the island. Transfer to the capital of KOS, walk: the remains of the ancient city, Platanus - the oldest tree on the island, Neratzia Castle from the 16th century. Passage to the market, free time for souvenir shopping. Visit to an oil factory. Transfer to MYLOTOPI on a hill with a beautiful view and a windmill operating until today. Transfer to KEFALOS, the first capital of the island, and free time. A visit to a honey factory, where you will have an opportunity to learn about the process of its production, taste and purchase honey products. In the evening, optional (with an extra charge on site): departure to the village of Zia, located on the slope of Dikeos Mountain, with a beautiful view of the north coast and time to admire the sunset. Walk the winding streets filled with local shops. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation, dinner, overnight.
3. DAY. PSERIMOS - KALYMNOS - PLATI (route: approx. 50 km) Breakfast. Aegean cruise towards the islands of Pserimos, Plati and Kalymnos. During the cruise, there is an opportunity to sunbathe, swim and dive (there is a bar on board the ship, where you can buy drinks). The first stop is the small fishing island of PSERIMOS with a beautiful sandy beach. Then the descent to the mainland of the island of KALYMNOS, known for its sponge divers. Free time for lunch (on your own). Walk, time to go shopping. At the end, the island of PLATI, near which you will have time to swim in the crystal clear water. Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight stay.
4. DAY. FREE TIME / NISSYROS (route: approx. 60 km) Breakfast. Free time or participation in an optional trip (for an extra charge on site): to the island of NISSYROS. Transfer to the port in Kardamena and a cruise to the tiny island of Nissyros, only 40 km². A visit to the "Gate of Hell" - one of the world's largest active hydrothermal craters called Stefanos. Transfer to the capital of the island - Mandraki, free time for a walk around the picturesque port town. Visiting the Monastery of Panagia Spiliani on the top of the rock. Return cruise to Kos. Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight.
5. DAY. RODOS - LINDOS (route: approx. 180 km) Breakfast. Check out. Morning ferry crossing to Rhodes. Visiting RODOS, the capital of the island, inhabited continuously for 2,500 years. A visit to Monte Smith Hill, a wonderful viewpoint over the city and the bay. Then walk to the Odeon and the Stadium. Transfer to the center and a walk around the Old Town: Rycerska Street, Sokratesa Street, Hippocrates Square. Free time in the Old Town or for an individual visit to the Palace of the Grand Masters, built by the Knights of St. John in the 19th century, where you can admire, among others, ancient mosaics from Kos and works of art from different eras. The medieval city of Rhodes is on the UNESCO list. A visit to the port of Mandraki, where, according to legends, the sixth wonder of the world - the Colossus of Rhodes - was to become. Transfer to LINDOS, an extraordinary "white city" from the UNESCO list, in ancient times one of the most important ports on the Mediterranean trade route. Entrance to the castle hill, the Acropolis from the 2nd century BCE, the second largest acropolis in Greece after the Athenian one, where there are the remains of the Temple of Athena and the Fortress of the Knights of St. John. Paul. A stroll through the charming streets of Lindos: Captain's Houses, Central Square, 14th-century Byzantine church. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation, dinner, overnight.
6. DAY. KAMIROS - EMBONA - MONOLITHOS (route: approx. 50 km) Breakfast. Transfer to KAMIROS, called "Greek Pompeii", one of the most important Doric settlements on the island, where you can admire, among others. ruins of the temple of Pallas Athena, the altar of Helios, bathhouses, shops and houses, a cistern from the 6th century BCE Time for photos in the picturesque ruins of Kritinia Castle. In the village of EMBONA tasting wines from a local winery and the possibility of tasting, among others coffee ouzo. Free time for lunch (on your own). Transfer to MONOLITHOS and tasting of local honeys, delicious olive oil and fiery water "Souma", all with a view of the ruins of a medieval castle, built on a huge rock. Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight stay.
7. DAY. FREE TIME / SYMI (route: approx. 60 km) Breakfast. Free time or participation in an optional trip (for an additional fee on site) to the island of Symi off the coast of Turkey. Transfer to the port and a cruise to the picturesque SYMI, once the richest island of the archipelago, which was due to the fishing of the famous sponges, known as the "gold of the Dodecanese". During the cruise you can admire the panorama of the islands of Halki, Thilos and Sesklia. On Symi visiting the Monastery of Archangel Michael in Panormitis, an important pilgrimage center. Then, a stroll through the port and the center of the town of Symi, delighting with terraced houses with colorful facades. It is also an opportunity to learn how to extract sponges from the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. Free time.
