A few days' stay on these islands is a great attraction of the trip. Description
1. DAY. Collection at the airport. Departure to Ecuador. Arrival in Quito. Transfer to the Indian town of Otavalo, the main leather-making center. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, overnight.
2. DAY. OTAVALO - CUICOCHA - SAN JUAN DE ILLUMAN Breakfast. A visit to the market of folk products in OTAVALO. An opportunity to buy hand-woven garments, carpets, woolen tapestries, wooden products. Lunch with tasting of local products. In the afternoon, drive to the CUICOCHA crater lake, located at the foot of the extinct Cotacachi volcano (4939 m above sea level). Admiring fantastic views on a short boat trip. On the way back to Otavalo, we will make a stop in the village of the indigenous community of SAN JUAN DE ILLUMAN. Return to the hotel, overnight.
3. DAY. LA MITAD DEL MUNDO - QUITO Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Drive to LA MITAD DEL MUNDO, the monument to the equator located at 0 ° latitude. This is a great time to be in two hemispheres at once. Transfer to QUITO, the capital of Ecuador, located at the foot of the Pichincha volcano, at an altitude of 2800 m above sea level. A walk around the old town entered on the UNESCO list: Independence Square, Presidential Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral. Transfer to the Panecillo hill, from which there is a view of the entire city. At the top is the tallest aluminum monument on our planet - La Virgen del Panecillo. Hotel accommodation, overnight stay.
4. DAY. P.N. COTOPAXI - BAÑOS Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. A trip to the COTOPAXI NATIONAL PARK and the Cotopaxi volcano (5897 m above sea level), the highest active volcano in the world. Transfer to the parking lot at 4500 m above sea level, from where the trek to the Jose Rivas hut located at 4800 m above sea level begins. Then, return to the parking lot and walk along the shores of Lake Limpiopungo (3800 m above sea level), where you can meet exotic birds, herds of llamas and other species of mammals. Lunch in the form of packages. Transfer to the town of BAÑOS, famous for the Sanctuary of Our Lady and hot springs, located on the slope of the Tungurahua volcano. Baños is a unique place where the Andes turn into the Amazon jungle. Hotel accommodation, overnight stay.
5. DAY. PAILON DEL DIABLO - GUAMOTE Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Transfer to the spectacular PAILON DEL DIABLO waterfall - one of the largest waterfalls in Ecuador (approx. 80 m high). Drive along a scenic route with breathtaking views of the Andes to the small village of GUAMOTE, where it seems as if time has stood still. Innovative projects are being carried out in the village to improve the living conditions of the local population through education. A lesson in preparing the local delicacy of empanadas. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation, overnight.
6. DAY. ALAUSI - INGAPIRCA Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Transfer to ALAUSI along the scenic route, guaranteeing picturesque landscapes of Andean gorges, steep slopes of the mountains and typical Indian settlements. Lunch. Stop at the Pistishi viewpoint from where you can see part of the El Nariz del Diablo train route. Drive from Alausi to the ruins of the largest Inca city in Ecuador - INGAPIRCA, built on the top of Canari. Sightseeing: fortifications, courtyards, terraces, the Temple of the Sun God. Transfer to Cuenca. Hotel accommodation, overnight stay.
7. DAY. CUENCA - P.N. EL CAJAS Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Free time in CUENCA, which is considered the most beautiful city in Ecuador, entered on the UNESCO list. It delights with colonial architecture, cobbled streets and an unusual atmosphere. It is also known for making hats. In the afternoon, drive towards Guayaquil. On the way, a stop at a vantage point, from where there is a phenomenal view of the EL CAJAS NATIONAL PARK, the area of which is mostly a plateau covered with high Andean moors with over 200 lakes and glacial lagoons connected by small rivers and streams. Lunch in the form of packages. Hotel accommodation in Guayaquil, overnight.
8. DAY. GALAPAGOS ARCHIPELAGO (BALTRA - SANTA CRUZ) Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight to the island of BALTRA in the GALAPAGOS ARCHIPELAGO, home to one of the most important national parks in the world, which is home to many species of fauna and flora that cannot be found anywhere else. The most famous are: elephant turtles, sea iguanas, gannets, and 76 of the 89 bird species are endemic. The Galapagos Islands, as well as the surrounding Pacific Ocean, are strictly protected and under the patronage of UNESCO. Ferry crossing to the second largest island of the archipelago, SANTA CRUZ. Lunch in the El Chato reserve, where an additional attraction is the possibility of observing giant turtles in their natural habitat. Transfer to Puerto Ayora and walk to the port, where you can meet sea lions and iguanas. Hotel accommodation, overnight.
9. DAY. GALAPAGOS ARCHIPELAGO (SANTA CRUZ) Breakfast. Free time for sunbathing or optionally (for an additional fee on site): a cruise to one of the three islands: Plazas, North Seymour or Santa Fe (which island can be visited on a given day, depends on the current national park regulations). Return to the hotel, overnight.
10. DAY. GALAPAGOS ARCHIPELAGO (SAN CRISTOBAL) Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. A speedboat crossing to the island of SAN CRISTOBAL, which occupies the eastern part of the archipelago. Hotel accommodation. Free time for sunbathing or optionally (for an additional fee on site): a cruise to the island of Isla Lobos with the possibility of snorkeling and lunch. Return to the hotel, overnight.
11. DAY. GUAYAQUIL Breakfast. Check out from the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Flight to GUAYAQUIL, the largest city of Ecuador and the main seaport. A visit to the Seminario Park - a historic botanical garden where iguanas run across the lawns and turtles swim in the ponds. Walk along the Malecon 2000 coastal boulevard with a stunning view of the Guayas River, all the way to the bohemian quarter of Las Penas, with its 19th century wooden architecture. Hotel accommodation, overnight stay.
