A Caribbean paradise for those wanting to get away from reality, a peninsula 63 km long and 10-23 km wide. Located on the northernmost tip of the Dominican Republic, it is one of her most fabulous places. The coast is bordered by dense palm tree forests, and the beaches with delicate, white coral sand and sea, let you forget about the whole world.

The capital of the peninsula is the colourful town Santa Barbara de Samana. Every year, in the Bay of Samana, between mid-January and end-March, appear thousands of humpback dolphins (a cetaceans species), to join in pairs here. Along the coast there are numerous cayos - islets, the most famous of which is Cayo Levantado, called Bacardi Island. Its dreamlike beaches have caused that advertising spots were filmed here, among others, advertising Bacardi rum. The main destination of the northern coast is Las Terrenas, a pleasant typical Caribbean town with bars and restaurants. Extending for kilometers here are sandy beaches, which belong to the world leaders.
Pilot: tourists are looked after by a Polish resident, whose tasks include help upon arrival, departure and stay, as well as registration for local trips.
Visas: it is required to purchase a Tourist Card. The card is valid for 90 days and must be bought at the airport in the Dominican Republic - 10 USD. Passport must be valid a minimum of 6 months.

Język: hiszpański; można także porozumiewać się po angielsku.
Waluta: dominikańskie peso (RD$) 1 RD$ dzieli się na 100 centów. W obiegu znajdują się monety 1 i 5 pesos oraz banknoty 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 i 2000 pesos. 1 USD = ok. 37 peso, 1 EUR = ok. 51 peso.
Stolica: Santo Domingo.
Napięcie: 110 V (potrzebny adapter i transformator).
Napiwki: obowiązuje zasada, że każdy daje tyle, na ile go stać. Przyjęte jest dawanie napiwków kelnerom, barmanom (ok. 5-15%) pokojówkom i bagażowym. Taksówkarzom nie wręcza się napiwków.
Ceny w hotelu i restauracjach: obiad – od 8 USD, kolacja – od 10 USD, butelka wody mineralnej – 1 USD, piwo – 2 USD, butelka wina – 15 USD, kawa – 2 USD, koktajl alkoholowy – ok. 2,5 USD, napój bezalkoholowy – 2 USD.
Wycieczki lokalne: organizowane są przez lokalne agencje turystyczne na warunkach przez nie określonych. Istnieje możliwość niezorganizowania wycieczki z powodu zbyt małej liczby chętnych.
