Costa Blanca has two parts: High Coast - Alta Marina in the north and Low Coast - Marina Baixa in the south. In the north, the coastline is more varied, the mountains come down to the sea, there are picturesque coves and caves. In the south the beaches are long, sandy, ideal for a family holiday. One of the most famous towns of Costa Blanca is the vibrant Benidorm – called the Las Vegas of Spain, which seen from the sea looks like Manhattan with impressive skyscrapers. There are many hotels and attractions: hundreds of bars, restaurants, discos with the best DJs, casinos, clubs and shops. In the evening the city is illuminate thousands of neon lights. One of the reasons for which millions of tourists come here, are the three wonderful beaches: Playa de Poniente, Playa de Mal Pas and the most famous, 2-km Playa de Levante. Benidorm also boasts world-class amusement parks: Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundomar - these are attractions for the whole family. North of Benidorm are two famous resorts: Altea and Albir. The first is called the cultural capital of Valencia. It is a favourite place for artists, and its old town with its narrow streets and beautiful promenades has maintained an authentic character. Surrounded by mountains, it has a beautiful boardwalk, there are many bars and shopping centres here. The town has several beautiful shingle beaches. It's not far from here to the increasingly popular Albir with its beautiful Playa de Albir. The famous resort of Costa Blanca is Alicante - the City of Lights, of Mediterranean character, situated at the foot of Monte Benacantil, which, despite the development of tourism, has maintained its Spanish beauty. Its flagship is the castle of St Barbara at the top of the mountain that dominates over the city, overlooking a picturesque view. Along the sea there is the gorgeous boardwalk Explanada de Espana. Alicante boasts beautiful sandy beaches with a total length of approx. 15 km, and the most famous of them is Playa de San Juan. To the south of Alicante is Guardamar del Segura, a growing resort, which still retains its Spanish lifestyle, ideal for long holidays. Its biggest advantage are the wonderful, some of the longest and most beautiful beaches in Costa Blanca, and a fantastic climate. There are 8 wide, sandy beaches with a total length of approx. 14 km, which borders are sand dunes and pine forests. A popular holiday resort is Dehesa de Campoamor, a town on the border of Costa Blanca and Costa Calida. There are three sandy beaches with the largest: La Playa Grande, a beautiful marina and golf courses nearby. No matter what destination you choose, each of them has something charming and typically Spanish, a wonderful climate, picturesque location and of course the golden beaches by the azure sea.
