The footprints of the rich history can be found in the city centre. The more than 2 km long and 8 m high defense walls make a huge impression. The Great Mosque, raw in architecture, looks more like a fortress and together with the neighbouring ribat - defensive monastery - shows the power and force of the city in the past. From the tower of the ribat extends a fascinating view of the medina and courtyard of the Great Mosque.
However, history and its relics are only one of the assets of this place. Sousse is also a modern city with schools, universities, production plants, the city lives off industry, also tourist. The beautiful beach above all creates conditions for tourist development, along which, beginning from Boujafaar Square in the centre, towards the north a strip of hotels has been built of varying standards. The more luxurious and expensive are situated in the "port-garden", which the yacht harbour El Kantaoui is called, where yacht and boat are anchored almost outside the windows of their owners.
We can also find a countless number of restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops here. Further north, where the hotels end, carefully maintained golf course stretch out. Along the beach there are watersport and diving centres. Those who grow tired of sport, swimming and sunbathing, can regenerate in the terrifically equipped thalassotherapy centres on the premises of the hotels. In the late evening you can go out again and have fun in pubs, clubs and discos. The well-known casino is also a tempting offer.
Tunis – Carthage – Sidi Bou Said (1 day) - a fascinating history of Carthage and modern Tunis. A visit to the centre of the capital city, a stroll through the narrow streets of the Medina with its characteristic architecture and local shops. Exploring Carthage - an amazing encounter with the history of this powerful ancient city. Enjoying the beautifully situated by the sea shore remains of the Baths of Antonius and the Byrsa National Museum with a collection of unique works of art, and the Cathedral of St. Louis. Another point of the programme is Sidi Bou Said - situated on a hill, a quiet town of artists, which captivates with its white-blue houses that run along the cobbled streets. It it from here that you can admire the most beautiful views of the sea and Bon Peninsula. Price – approx. 90 TND.
Sahara Explorer (2 days) – 2-day expedition via coach to the south of Tunisia, allowing you to see the most beautiful landscapes and experience the hot breath of the largest desert in the world - the Sahara. 1. DAY: Visiting the perfectly preserved ruins of the Roman amphitheatre in El Djem. Transfer to Matmata - a place of moon-like landscapes and the houses of "troglodytes". Visit to a Berber homestead. Lunch. Continued journey to Douz - known as "the gateway to Sahara", where you can go on a camel ride over the dunes of the Sahara (optional - 20 TND/person). Accommodation, dinner and sleep. 2. DAY: Early breakfast. Crossing the largest in Tunisia salt lake Chott El Djerid, famous for its mirages, which area created in the right weather conditions. Jeep expedition (obligatory - 35 TND/person) over the wilderness of the Grand Erg Oriental and to the oases beautifully situated in the Atlas Mountains: Chebika and Tamerza. Return to coach. Lunch. Takruna – Sidi Khelifa (half-day) – organised trip for guests from the hotels in Sousse and Monastir. Transfer to the "hanging village" of Takruna, scenically located on a cliff, which inhabitants of light skin and chestnut hair testify to the mixture of races that has occurred during the turbulent history of these surroundings. Walk around the village. Travel to Sidi Khelifa and touring the remains there of the Roman city. Return to hotels. Price – approx. 52 TND.
Medinat Alzahra (evening) - sounds mysterious and that's what Medinat Alzahra is like. An evening in this place is the history of Tunisia presented in an amazing performance lasting just over an hour. Berbers, Romans, Muslims, Turks - all in a perfect performance, also in Polish, preceded by a dinner that will take us in to an atmosphere of the mysterious. Crossing the Medinat Alzahara gate is entering a completely different world - the tales of one thousand and one nights... Price – approx. 78 TND.
Friguia Park (half-day) – late morning trip to Friguia Park is an amazing encounter with the fauna of Black Africa. It's an amazing transfer for a moment from Muslim Tunisia to the middle part of the continent. Friguia Park is over 100 animals - lions, elephants, giraffes, kangaroos and many many others - which we are used to identifying with this continent. Price – approx. 78 TND.
South at a glance: Kairouan - El Jem - places added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Kairouan after Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem is the fourth holy city of Islam. Visit in the Great Mosque of Sidi Uqba Mosque and the famous mosque Zaouia Sidi Sahab, drive to the Aghlabids pools. El Jem is the most spectacular Roman building in North Africa, and third largest amphitheatre in the world. Day trip, Polish-speaking guide, lunch included (drinks additionally payable). Price - approx. 80 TND.
Local excursions are organized by local travel agencies under the conditions fixed by them. It's possible to disorganize trips due to low number of applicants.
