Fuerteventura is 22 million years old, it is the oldest, longest and second-largest island of the Canarian Archipelago. Its coastline is 340 km long, of which a large part are dreamlike beaches. The sand on the beaches is blown straight from the Sahara – it is only 115 km to Africa from here! The temperature that maintains at approx. 22°C all year round, excellent conditions for windsurfing and beautiful landscapes make the island a fantastic place for holidays. Its central part is fascinating mountain landscapes, on the west it is mostly a cliff coast, the most beautiful beaches are on the east. Tourists can visit the Jandia peninsula, in the south of Fuerteventura. On its east coast there are popular holiday centres: Costa Calma and Morro Jable. Costa Calma boasts the longest beaches on the island, including the famous Playa Barca, along which high-class hotels are located. There are several shopping centers here, with restaurants and bars, colourful market are held here once a week. Amateurs of jogging and the increasingly popular Nordic walking appear on the beaches the earliest each morning, then fans of simply relaxing on the beach arrive.
