Sand that shines in the sun, intensively green palm trees, the snow-capped peak of the Teide volcano, colourful parrots in Loro Park – these are the icons of Tenerife, the promised land of tourists from all over the world, where holidays last all year round. In the land of perpetual fiesta there is always time for fun and relaxation, and the unique insular climate allows you to take full advantage of the attractions of the Island of Eternal Spring.
The largest island of the archipelago of the Canary Islands. Lies only 300 km from the coast of Africa and although it is Spanish and European, you can already feel the exotica. Incredibly diverse in landscapes and climate, it has two clearly different parts of which are divided by a mountain range: warmer and sunnier south with sandy beaches and a cooler north with lush tropical vegetation, banana plantations and natural beaches with black and gray sands. The main tourist destination of north of Tenerife is Puerto de la Cruz. It is worth seeing the old city with numerous landmarks, churches and chapels, the fortress of San Felipe, Taoro Park with a modern palace casino and Loro Park Zoo.
The most famous beach of the north is Las Teresitas, approx. 1 km long with golden Saharan sand. The capital of the south of Tenerife, where the sun shines all year round, is Playa de las Americas - a modern resort with lots of hotels and a vibrant nightlife and its famous boardwalk that stretches out for many kilometers along the ocean. It combines Playa de las Americas with the traditional Los Cristianos and the elegant Playa del Duque. The beaches of dark volcanic sand gently descend into the ocean. A much quieter than Playa de las Americas is its district Costa Adeje, particularly recommended for family holidays. There is a nice beach and boardwalk with bars and restaurants.
