Fantastyczny hotel ze świetną obsługą i bardzo dobrym wyżywieniem. Trudno ocenić wyżej atrakcje w pobliżu hotelu czy plażę bo to jest też kwestia specyfiki samej wyspy.

Miła obsługa, wygodne pokoje, ładnie i wygodnie zagospodarowany teren wokół hotelu Słabym elementem było wyżywienie, monotonne i niezbyt smaczne, zaskakująco mało posiłków z kuchni regionalnej. Sugerowałam bym zrezygnowanie z zaplanowanej jednej kolacji serwowanej - jakość serwowanego jedzenia była bardzo słaba,niektóre z potraw były niejadalne. Jeżeli nie ma możliwości zmiany formy kolacji to może jest mozliwośc aby w tym dniu zamiast kolacji zjeść obiad.

Niestety pokoje z których korzystaliśmy mimo ,ze wygodne to jednak nie były zbyt czyste. Wdać było plamy na wykładzinie, brudne firanki i okna ,bardzo zużyte wyposażenie łazienek, niestety nie zmieniano nam ręczników przez kilka dni. Niestety cały hotel ' trąci myszką' Obsługa w restauracji była dobra, posiłki smaczne. Niestety doliczono nam jeden posiłek do zapłaty ( lunch) dodatkowo ,musieliśmy interweniować w recepcji przy wyjeżdzie. To nie powinno się zdarzyć w takim hotelu.

Madera jest piękną wyspą, widoki są niezapomniane. Hotel ten był wspaniały dobrych kilka lat temu. Wykładziny powinny być już dawno zmienione, remont w łazience również by się przydał. Po za tymi szczegółami mam bardzo pozytywne odczucia. Pokój bardzo duży, sprzątany codziennie, zmiana pościeli co kilka dni. Jedzenie wyśmienite, bardzo szeroki wybór mięs, serów, owoców, soków, deserów. Wspaniała cisza w hotelu, brak animacji. Codziennie wieczorem przy kolacji grał człowiek na fortepianie i śpiewał standardy, można także potańczyć. Przy hotelu wspaniały ogród, można tam wypić kawkę czy poczytać książkę. Wypożyczaliśmy samochód korzystając z pośrednictwa hotelu, bardzo pomocna obsługa hotelu. Na prośbę otwierają w piwnicy kolekcję starych samochodów- właściciela :), warto zobaczyć. Przy basenie jest wypożyczalnia ręczników, bar. Przy plaży również jest bar. Plaża kamienista jak na całej wyspie. Będąc na basenie można podziwiać najpiękniejszy klif w Europie Cabo Girao. Z wycieczek fakultatywnych nie korzystałam. Osobiście polecam wypożyczenie auta. W 3 dni można zwiedzić całą wyspę. Jeździ się wybornie, autostradą wszędzie szybko, w górach troszkę trzeba uważać, ale bez przesady. Kto jeździł po Krecie, Kanarach czy Cyprze poradzi sobie i tutaj. Rezydentka straszy że cały czas na jedynce, co nie jest prawdą. Blisko hotelu jest duża galeria handlowa czynna do północy nawet w święta wielkanocne:), są również sklepy, bary, apteki. Przy hotelu znajduje się przystanek z którego można dostać się bezpłatnym autobusem do centrum Funchal. Powrót z centrum o 18.00- trochę za wcześnie. Cena taksówki z centrum do hotelu to 10 Euro. Generalnie polecam hotel osobom które chcą odpocząć, bez natrętnej animacji i hałasu. Goście hotelu to ludzie w średnim wieku i starsi, mało dzieci. Jedynie co może zakłócać spokój w hotelu to szum oceanu i ptaki które zaczynają śpiewać od 5.30 :) :) :) W przyszłym roku również wybieram się na Maderę i wybrałabym ten sam hotel. Polecam!

Obsługa dyskretna. Cisza i spokój. Basen bardzo dobry, woda czysta. Jedzenie mogłoby być wzbogacone o owoce, z który słynie Madera, ale te, które były serwowane, wystarczały. Dobre ciasta. Świetny artysta grający i śpiewający wieczorem standardy. Przydatny autobus hotelowy do i z Funchal, wieczorem mógłby jednak wracać również później niż o 18,30.

Na pewno nie jest to hotel na pięć gwiazdek! Wyżywienie też nie jak na restaurację w pięciogwiazdkowym hotelu, rzeczywiście, stylowy, kiedyś piękny, ale po prostu zaniedbany, żeby nie rzec brudny....Położenie i winda na plażę bardzo wygodna, jak również łatwy dostęp do obu promend zarówno w stronę Funchal jak i Camara de Lobos i te trasy bardzo polecam. Hotel głównie obsadzony przez starszych Brytyjczyków, raczej nie ma małych dzieci. Obsługa hotelu w porządku.

Hotel ładnie położony, z pięknym ogrodem, z widokiem na ocean. Z różnymi typami pokojów w zależności potrzeb, od standardowych pokojów z łazienką i balkonem do małych apartamentów z wyposażoną kuchnią. W odległości 20 minut spacerem znajduje się duże centrum handlowe i turystyczna dzielnica z restauracyjkami i sklepikami. Funchal znajduje się po lepszej, w trakcie naszego pobytu w lutym, cały czas było ciepło i świeciło słońce, podczas gdy kilkanaście kilometrów na wschód było pochmurnie i czasem padał deszcz. W Funchal nie ma plaż, dlatego nie ma co się sugerować odległością od plaży przy wyborze hotelu, dużo bardziej istotny są widoki. Nasz hotel miał dobry widok na ocean, ponieważ był w pierwszym rzędzie od oceanu, co nie jest regułą. Najlepiej wybrać pokój na wyższym piętrze w środkowej części hotelu, ale może się to wiązać z dodatkowymi opłatami.

Hotel ma już za sobą swoje najlepsze czasy i na pewno nie zasługuje na pięć gwiazdek, ale choć pierwsze wrażenie nie jest najlepsze, stopniowo zyskuje w oczach gości ze względu na niezwykle ujmującą atmosferę, uprzejmość i staranność obsługi, ciszę (brak animacji!), spokój, indywidualne podejście do klienta, co bardzo dobrze wpływa na jakość wypoczynku.

Wycieczki dostępne na miejscu
The centre of the island — cable car ride over the rooftops of the city of Funchal to the Monthe hill. Visiting: the sanctuary of Our Lady on Monte hill, tropical garden with Madeira's relic endemic vegetation. The picturesque mountain road leads to the heart of the island, where from panoramic terraces of Eira do Serrado you can admire the breathtaking view of the mountain precipices. A drive to a secluded village, the Valley of the Nuns, tasting the local specialty - liqueurs with chestnut, chocolate and passion fruit flavors. The route leads to the other side of the mountain range, to Câmara de Lobos - a typical fishing village with a charming port, Winston Churchill's favourite place. Optionally: a crazy downhill ride on wicker sleighs from Monte Hill (additionally payable: 15 EUR/person). Day trip. Levada — Madeira is famous for its canals, which provide every corner of the island with water from the mountains. They were built here already in the days of the first Portuguese colonizers. The prices include transport and the care of an English-speaking mountain guide.
Levada Rabacal — level: average, approx. 13 km, trekking time: approx. 4 h, on the route: the high waterfall Risco and cascade "25 springs" consisting of many waterfalls, the UNESCO-protected laurel forest Laurissilva. Funchal — a visit to the city market where the inhabitants of Madeira meet. Located in the heart of the center of Funchal, the market offers the best fruits, vegetables and flowers on the island and local gastronomy and crafts. A walk through the historic city center: the port area, the 15th-century Manueline style cathedral, the Madeira parliament building, the citadel of St. Lawrence and the statue of Józef Piłsudski. Visiting the famous "Old Blandy Wine Lodge" winery, getting to know the production process of the exceptional Madeira wine, which has its unique taste due to its aging in oak barrels. Tasting. A drive to the Pico dos Barcelos (355 m) lookout point, which offers a panoramic view of the entire city. Half-day trip. Levada to Furado — trekking on the levadas, unique irrigation channels. Level: medium, approx. 11 km, trekking time: approx. 5 hours. Route starts at Ribeiro Frio in the commune of Santana. Along the way there are wonderful views of the valleys and the peaks of the island. Stop and lunch at the old Herdade do Lombo das Faias farm. Continuation of trekking along the levada to Furado, an opportunity to admire the endemic flora and fauna of the laurel forest (so-called Laurissilva). Trekking ends with a descent to the Portela village. One should take suitable clothing and trekking footwear.
