ITAKA – the Great Pearl of Polish Economy


ITAKA is the only tourist company awarded with the title of the Great Pearl of the Polish Economy. This title confirms that ITAKA belongs to the elite group of Polish enterprises.

On November 24th, 2017, the 15th Gala of the Pearls of the Polish Economy ("Perły Polskiej Gospodarki") took place in the Royal Castle Ballroom in Warsaw. Its organiser was the economic monthly Polish Market. The patronage over the Gala was taken by the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education and the Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics. On behalf of ITAKA, the certificate was collected by President Piotr Henicz from the hands of the Minister of State of the Ministry of Development, Andżelika Możdżanowska. Congratulations were submitted by: Krystyna Woźniak-Trzosek - the President of the Management Board, the Editor-in-Chief of Polish Market and Professor Tomasz Szapiro from the Warsaw School of Economics, Head of the Pearls of the Polish Economy Ranking Project. The gala had a splendid artistic setting. Stan Borys, Piotr Salaber and Natalia Walewska, Włodek Pawlik and Marcin Bronikowski gave performances. The best business entities were selected in a ranking prepared by scientists from the Decision Support and Analysis Department of the Institute of Econometrics of the Warsaw School of Economics. The Pearl of the Polish Economy title was awarded in two categories: Great Pearls and Large Pearls. The ranking study covered more than 2000 companies whose revenues from business activities in the period of the year amounted to:
- at least PLN 100 million - Large Pearls
- over PLN 1 billion - Great Pearls
