The route runs along mountain roads to the top of Pico da Barrosa mountain, where you can enjoy an amazing view of the Lake of Fire, one of the most beautiful on the island. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, you can see the western part of the island, where there are more than 100 small volcanoes. Before returning to the capital, a visit to a pineapple plantation. Observation of dolphins and whales – the location of the island in the north of the Ocean attracts up to 24 species of whales and several species of dolphin. Crater Lake Sete Cidades – the road to the lake runs through a very scenic village, rises up to the main crater of an extinct volcano, in some places reaches the height of 580 m above sea level. From the summit of the crater with a circumference of 12 km, you can admire two lakes: blue, reflecting the sky and light green, which is influenced by the colour of the vegetation that covers the walls of the crater. On the way back, a stopover at the famous Antonio Borges Botanical Gardens, where there are European and tropical specimens of trees. Furnas Valley - a visit to a pineapple plantation and an explanation of the process of the cultivation of this fruit. Pineapple liqueur tasting. Transfer towards Ribeira Grande - the oldest city in the north of the island. Road through Santa Iria and a tea plantation to the top of Pico do Ferro, offering a magnificent view of Furnas Valley. A visit to Terra Nostra Park (subtropical flora). Lunch in the hotel. Then the opportunity to see one of the phenomena of the Azores - 23 hot mineral springs.
