Hotel Terme Providence is still owned by one family and it results with a very nice treatment of guests. All the staff is very patient to explain everything in details. It is possible to talk to all people in reception, in Italian, of course, but also in German and in English. Hotel is very nice and silent, to spent time there. There are 2 outdoor swimming pools: the small termal one (~40 deg C od water) and the bigger one with temperature of water of ~28 deg C. Those pools looks exactly the same as on the pictures in the Internet. Towels for swimming pools are extra paid 7€. There is also 1 indoor swimming pool, but it was not open during our visit. There is a garden behind the building - very nice place to walk, to seat and read a book or to look at plants including lemon trees. There is a small gym in the garden, inside a kind of summer house ( just walls and roof). The gym includes machine for walking and barbell stand. Every day 1 hour of yoga is organized there. Close to that summer house there is a table for ping-pong, but it it is outdoor, so during the windy weather it is difficult to play. Our room was very nice, with 3 beds, but with a lot of space. It was located on the level „-2”, under reception, but it was not underground - we could go outside directly to the płace with grass and with small water eye. The rooms are cleaned every day free of charge. Food - delicious, with a lot of local specials. Restaurant staff was very helpfull and very good speaking German and English. Hotel is located about 0,8km from Citara beach and about 1,2 km from Posejdon Gardini with 22 termal swimming pools, in one direction and about 1 km from Forio city center, in opposite direction. For people who like walking it is no problem, for others hotel offers shuttle buses: one to to the Citara beach and one to the center of Forio. Each shuttle bus is 4 times a day, but it should be reserved one day before. Every day hotel organizes extra paid different facultative travels. Hotel bar is open 24 hours a day and offers extra food and drinks. Citara beach is very famous on the Ischia island. It is sand beach with a grey sand ( not yellow as in Poland, but not black as on Canarian Islands). City tax is 3€ per day per person, paid extra in the hotel. It is possible to buy city-island bus tickets, at the hotel. Day ticket (valid for all bus numbered lines, till 23:59 of the day) costs 4,8€ per adult person. To travel to the most famous monument of the Island - ruins and garden of the Aragon Castle - we should go to Ischia Porto ( lines: 1,2, CD, CS; to the last bus stop) and tlen from the same bus stop with line 7, to Ischia Ponte - the last bus stop. Around the island — visiting the most beautiful corners of Ischia. A ride to Lacco Ameno, the symbol of which is the rock formation resembling a mushroom with its shape. Then a visit to Casamicciola Terme, where you can enjoy a picturesque view of Ischia Porto and Aragon Castle. Tasting of local alcohols, which you can buy. A ride to the highest town on the island - Serrara Fontana, located on the slope of Mount Epomeo, where you can enjoy a cup of Italian coffee or try local snacks. Then a stop in the picturesque resort of Sant'Angelo, from where you can admire the view of the Gulf of Naples and the Capri Island . Free time for purchase of souvenirs and thermal therapeutic cosmetics. Half-day trip. Price - approx. 25 EUR.
Capri Island — a cruise to the favourite island of Roman emperors, called a pearl of Tyrrhenian Sea. Free time in Anacapri town with the Church of St. Michael, the villa of Casa Rosa (Red House) with a gallery and a statue of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. A big attraction is the villa of St. Michael, where you can see the remains of Greek and Roman times integrated into the building and a wonderful view of the Marina Grande. Possibility of climbing Capri’s highest mountain in a chair lift: Monte Solaro, which offers a breathtaking view of two bays. In the afternoon, a ride to the town of Capri, which is considered to be the capital of the island. Free time for sightseeing tours around the city, the Gardens of Augustus, the famous Blue Grotto or a cruise around the island. Day trip. Price - approx. 80 EUR, children - approx. 60 EUR (does not include entry tickets to the St. Michael Church: approx. 3 EUR, the villa of Casa Rosa: approx. 3.5 EUR, the villa of St. Michael: 8 EUR/person, the Blue Grotto: approx. 35 EUR, travel by the chair lift: approx. 11 EUR, cruise around the island: approx. 18 EUR, the Gardens of Augustus: approx. 1 EUR).
Pompeii and Vesuvius — sightseeing the ruins of the ancient town of Pompeii, destroyed by an eruption of the Vesuvius volcano in the year 79. Early morning departure to the port and then transfer to mainland Italy by ferry. Visiting archaeological sites and free time in Pompeii. For volunteers a lunch in the restaurant. Then entering the Vesuvius volcano at an altitude of approx. 1000 m above sea level, free time to reach the peak of the volcano. Admiring the crater and the Gulf of Naples. Day trip. Price - approx. 62 EUR (does not include: entrance ticket to the visited archaeological sites in Pompeii: approx. 15 EUR, entrance ticket to the peak of the Vesuvius volcano: approx. 10 EUR, lunch approx. 15 EUR).
Procida Island — a cruise to the smallest island in the Gulf of Naples - a beautiful Procida, not yet fully discovered by tourists. A stop in Corricella fishing port, free time for lunch and sightseeing. During the cruise around the island there will be a few stops, during which there will be time for swimming in the sea (directly from the board of the boat). Return to Ischia late in the afternoon. Day trip. Price - approx. 60 EUR (does not include lunch in the restaurant on the island: approx. 15-20 EUR).
Cruise around Ischia — cruise along the coast of Ischia island with stops in beautiful marinas. During the cruise there will be time for swimming in the sea and snorkeling (getting down to the sea from the deck on the ladder), and a cheerful crew will encourage you to have fun together and make this day an unforgettable experience. Snacks, water, wine and seafood lunch on board. Day trip. Price - approx. 60 EUR, children - approx. 48 EUR (includes: water, wine, snacks, lunch); min. 10 people required.
Amalfi Coast — a cruise to the coast famous for its beautiful bays, mysterious caves and high cliffs, included in the UNESCO list. Free time in the towns: Amalfi - the former apostolic capital and the center of the medieval republic, and Positano - majestically emerging from the sea. Day trip. Price - approx. 55 EUR.
Local excursions are organized by local travel agencies under the conditions fixed by them. It's possible to disorganize trips due to low number of applicants.
