Resident: Tourists are taken care of by a Polish resident, whose tasks include assistance upon arrival, departure and during the stay. (Hotels: MLEPARA, MLESUNI, MLEGANE, MLEATHU, MLETHUD, MLEBATH,MLEROYA, MLEFIHA, MLECOCO, MLEYOUM, MLELILY, MLEHIDE).

ITAKA Travel Expert (applies to ITAKA SMART offer)
We provide you with a Polish-speaking contact and remote care of the ITAKA Travel Expert team: via the ITAKA application, contact form and by phone. It is also worth taking advantage of information about the course of the trip and the place of rest in the ITAKA application. During the stay on site, there is no resident, in situations requiring urgent personal contact, an English-speaking representative ITAKI will take care of your safety.

Arrival and transfer to the hotel (applies to ITAKA SMART offer)
At the airport in the destination country, an ITAKI representative awaits you, who after the welcome will indicate the reserved transfer (bus, bus or car), taking you to the hotel where you will spend your holidays. The waiting time for the transfer can be up to approx. 1 hour. The transfer carries tourists to a maximum of 5 hotels. Upon arrival, the driver informs about the name of the hotel and helps with unloading the luggage. Information about the return transfer hotel-airport is available in the ITAKA application, it will also be sent in an SMS or e-mail message.

Visa: a visa is not required; at the airport you receive a stamp allowing entry and stay for 30 days. The passport must be valid for at least 1 month from the date of arrival in the Maldives. Current visa information is available on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: https://www.gov.pl/web/dyplomacja/informacje-dla-podrozujacych after selecting the destination of the trip.

Flight: Warsaw-Male – approx. 14 hours (with a transfer); in the dates 25/10/2023 – 20/12/2023 direct flight approx. 10 hours.

Transfer: It is done by motorboat or/and local plane, the transfer time indicated in the detailed hotel description may be extended due to weather conditions. Possibility to order a waterplane transfer in the following hotels (for an additional fee; the service can be ordered no later than 2 weeks before departure):

• Sandies Bathala Resort
• Gangehi Island Resort

Luggage limit for internal waterplane flight and motorboat transfer: main luggage – 20 kg, hand luggage – 5 kg (max. dimensions: 33x28x20 cm).

Local time: Polish time plus 3 hours (summer time); Polish time plus 4 hours (winter time).

Climate: tropical, humid, dry, we distinguish two seasons: dry (from November to April) and rainy (from May to October).

Area: 300 km².

Population: 396 300 inhabitants.

Religion: Islam.

Currency: Maldivian rufiyaa (MVR); 100 MVR=6,5 USD; there is no need to exchange currency, US dollars and euro are widely accepted in hotels; it is recommended to take US dollars issued after 2001.

Official languages: Maldivian (dhivehi) and English.

Electricity voltage: 230-240 V, European sockets.

Vaccinations: not required.

Beaches: hotel, white, soft sand, turquoise lagoons; close to many coral reefs beaches.

Customs regulations: weapons, ammunition, explosives, pornographic materials, items considered as violating Islamic rules, including objects of other cults and religions, pork and its products, and alcohol (alcohol can be consumed only in the resorts) are prohibited on the Maldives territory.

Tourist tax: obligatory fee charged from the Client (also for children) at the reception upon check-in or check-out (depending on the hotel): 6 USD/person/day.

Local excursions: are organized by the hotels on their own terms.

Trip to the neighboring island — cruise to the neighboring island, time for snorkeling. Price: approx. 45 USD - half-day trip, approx. 70 USD - day trip.

A cruise on a boat with a glass bottom — an hour-long cruise on a boat with a glass bottom is a great opportunity to admire the incredible coral reef and underwater world. Price: approx. 90 USD.

Malé — sightseeing the world's smallest capital and the only city on the island - Malé. Duration - approx. 2 h. Price: approx. 55 USD (trip organized from hotels: MLEPARA, MLERASF).

A trip to a desert island — a cruise to a small desert island surrounded by azure water and coral reef. Rest and picnic on the beach. Duration - approx. 6 h. Price - approx. 190 USD.

Swimming with sharks — an amazing experience guaranteed! The whale shark is the largest fish in the world, with an average length of about 10 meters. Being next to it is completely safe, because despite its huge size, it feeds on plankton. Duration - approx. 2 h. Price: approx. 170 USD (trip organized from hotels: MLESUNI, MLEGANE).

Sunset cruise — about an hour-long, romantic cruise on a traditional boat and admiration of the sunset. Price: approx. 50 USD.

Fishing — a trip to morning or evening fishing. Duration - approx. 2 h. Price - approx. 45 USD.

Local excursions are organized by local travel agencies under the conditions fixed by them. It's possible to disorganize trips due to low number of applicants.
