Picturesque landscapes, magnificent coral reefs, turquoise waters, fabulous beaches with soft sand and luxury hotels with cottages on the water - this is the Maldives!

ARCHIPELAGO OF DREAMS
The Maldives are famous for their paradise islets with prestigious and luxurious hotels. The archipelago comprises of over 1000 exotic islands and islets set on 26 atolls. Each one is surrounded by a lagoon with crystal clear water and a white ring of flour-soft sand. The vast majority of these fairy-tale islands are still uninhabited, only less than 200 of them are populated. But you have to hurry to see them, because it is estimated that they will disappear from the surface of the Earth in about 20 years.

MALE ATOLL
Divided into North and South Atoll, it stretches in the central part of the archipelago. The North Malé Atoll is one of the most frequently visited regions of the Maldives. This is where the largest number of hotels are located, as well as the capital city - Malé, the only urban center in the country. South Atoll, separated from the North one by a 4 km wide canal, is particularly popular among water sports enthusiasts. The Malé Atoll is a perfect place for a carefree holidays - its silence, enchanting nature and hotels blended into the surroundings encourage you to relax.

ARI ATOLL
One of the largest atolls on the western side of the archipelago is also divided into 2 atolls: North and South. Here you can find high standard hotels with the highest level of service and excellent recreational and sports facilities. The Ari Atoll amazes with excellent beaches and azure water, famous for its ideal conditions for underwater escapades.

PARADISE BEACHES
The Maldives have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With soft, fine, white sand and clear, turquoise blue water, gently sloping into the ocean, they are wide and uncrowded, ideal for blissful relaxation in the shade of palm trees, as well as for active recreation. Close to many beaches there are fantastic coral reefs, which delight amateurs of diving and snorkeling. You can also play beachball, surf or try water skiing.

UNDERWATER WORLD
To admire corals, tropical fish, sharks, turtles and rays you only need to immerse yourself in the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. But to get to know this underwater world better, it is worth to dive a bit deeper. The Maldives are famous for their professional diving schools with modern equipment and very warm water - a perfect place for both beginners and advanced diving enthusiasts. The best conditions for this sport are around the Ari and Addu atolls.

TUNA, COCONUT AND CURRY
The Maldivian cuisine is a mix of Arab, Indian and African influences. The most typical are vegetarian and fish dishes, the basic ingredient of which is rice, seasoned with aromatic spices, e.g. curry. Among the most popular ones is tuna, which is the basis of many dishes: mas riha - tuna in pieces, in a sauce of curry leaves, onion, chili paste, garlic and coconut milk, kulhiboakibaa - spicy cake, and the famous soup - garudhiya. It is also worth to try: theluli babukeyo - a kind of chips, baked bread tree fruit, huni folhi - a pancake with coconut filling, dhonkeyo kajuru - fried banana cake.

BODU BERU AND OTHER ATTRACTIONS
In addition to diving at the reef, you should try to take a light aircraft flight over the atolls - unforgettable views are guaranteed! It is also an amazing experience to fly in a seaplane, which lets you reach every corner of the country. A cultural attraction of a stay in the Maldives is a traditional dance and drum show called bodu beru, which in Maldivian means "big drum". These shows usually take place in the evenings in local bars, sometimes also in the resorts as part of a local night of culture.

SOUVENIRS
It is worth to bring home from holidays some colorful fabrics and costumes, jewelry, thudu kuna mats made of local fabrics, models of wooden dhoni boats. It is forbidden to export products from red and black coral, shells, tortoise shells and similar products of animal origin.
