SUNNY BEACH is the best developed region in Bulgaria in terms of tourism and the standard of services provided. Sunny Beach itself is considered the most beautiful seaside resort on the Bulgarian coast, and Nessebar located nearby is the pearl of the Bulgarian Riviera. Fantastic sandy beach covered by sand dunes, gently shelving beach, average water temperature of 24°C, hotels offering many amenities for children, 2 large aquaparks and limited vehicle traffic in the city make this district ideal for a family holiday.

We mainly associate Bulgaria with beautiful, wide and sandy beaches, bathed in a warm and shallow sea. Bulgarian hospitality is also well-known, like the excellent cuisine and wines that put everyone in a good mood. You can find here wonderful relics of the country's rich history, unique architecture of Thracian buildings, Bizantine fortresses, rocky Orthodox churches, monasteries and urban complexes that were erected during the Bulgarian renaissance. The inland of the country conceals gorgeous, sometimes even fairytale landscapes, gorges of rivers and mountain massifs. On the coast of the Black Sea a terrific tourist base awaits. Here there are vast, modern and excellently equipped hotel complexes, cosy and carefully maintained guesthouses and small hotels, health spas, aquaparks, sport fields, watersports centres, modern restaurants with an international menu and traditional meyhanes with terrific Bulgarian dishes, cafes, clubs, pubs and discos.

SUNNY BEACH – seaside resort, approx. 35 km north of Burgas, developing since 1958. There are over 100 hotels of various categories here that can accommodate approx. 30 thousand guests, for whom there are many attractions: restaurants, taverns, souvenir shops, pubs and discos, bungee jumping, and on the beach: pedalos, diving, windsurfing and sailing.

NESSEBAR – the old, historical part of the city lies on the peninsula the goes out to sea and is connected with the mainland by only a long and narrow causeway (approx. 5 km south from the centre of Sunny Beach). The buildings of the town are on the UNESCO List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The numerous Orthodox churches deriving from various historical periods are characteristic of this place, as are two-floor houses with stone ground floors and wooden second floors hung over the street, narrow stone coble streets, souvenir stalls, pubs and taverns, flower gardens and greenery growing on the walls. Aside from the peninsula, there is a new part of Nessebar with hotels and tourist facilities.

SVETI VLAS - a small town, located approx. 4.5 km north of the centre of Sunny Beach, on a slope of the Balkan Mountains. St. Vlas is more peaceful than Sunny Beach, but well-connected to it There are quite a few hotels here, a beautiful sandy beach, a few shops, restaurants, cafes with lower prices than in the centre of the resort. - wide and sandy beaches, many distinguished by the Blue Flag certificate - Nessebar – the pearl of the Bulgarian Riviera with a historical centre entered on the UNESCO list - tasty Bulgarian cuisine and wines served in traditional taverns accompanied by lively music - numerous monuments of Thracian architecture and culture, Byzantine fortresses and rocky mosques - unique microclimate and fauna and flora of the Ropotamo nature reserve.

KITEN - an extremely picturesque tourist village situated between Carew and Primorsko, ideal for lovers of a peaceful holiday away from the loud and crowded resorts. The biggest advantage of Kiten is the beautiful beach Atilman.

Attractions in the region

SOFIA – ALEXANDER NEVSKY CATHEDRAL

The cathedral mosque of St Aleksander Nevsky, which houses 5 thousand people, was built in the years 1882-1913 in a neo-Byzantine style according to the project of an architect from St. Petersburg - A.N. Pomerantsev.

VARNA

On a high terrace over the coast extends a huge Seaside Park, designed by the Czech Anton Novak - the architect modeled on the gardens of the imperial palace Schönbrunn in Vienna.

RILA MONASTERY

The famous monastery was visited by Tsar Petar (927-969). In the Orthodox Church an urn has been placed with the heart of the last Tsar of Bulgaria, Boris III of Bulgaria, who converted here to orthodoxy. A museum operates here, which is rich in exhibits.

ETAR

Here you can: paint an icon, design and make beautiful jewellery, forge a horseshoe for a horse, make a pot, and after some hard work have a lokum, halva, sesame and eat many delicious... etars.

GABROVO

In the city of humour and satire, the clock on the tower works also at night. It does not pay off to wear shoes by climbing the tower in the morning to turn on the mechanism, and again in the evening to stop it...

NESSEBAR

The walls of the proud Greek Mesembria neighbours with a complex of 18th-century houses in Black Sea style, with artfully carved wooden pillars and bays. "The Bulgarian Ravenna" impresses with its view of the Orthodox church.

IN THE STRANDZHA MOUNTAINS

...Xenophon admired the Thracian dances. Thracian rituals survived in nestinars' rites - a dance on burning coal. This tradition was inscribed on UNESCO's List of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

KAZANLAK

Valiant Thracians rest with their horses in kurgans in the Valley of the Thracian Kings. There are more than 1500 of them in the fragrant with roses Kazanlak Basin (it is also worth visiting the Museum of Roses).

BACHKOVO MONASTERY

On the fresco Last Judgement in the Orthodox Church of St Nicholas, the artist Zachari Zograf placed influential Turkish citizens of Plovdiv among the damned. The passions of Muslims have gained approval from Bulgarians, but the naked women sinners aroused disgust.

PERPERIKON

The Oracle of Dionysus, just as famous as the oracle in the Temple of Apollo in Delphi, was in Perperikon! Thus, here "Alexander the Great himself heard such a prophecy, (...) that he would be the lord of the world" (Suetonius, Twelve Caesars).
