The city was founded in 316 B.C. by King Kasandrosa and named after his wife, Thessaloniki. Sightseeing with a guide — old district of Kastro, Basilica of St. Demetrius, the White Tower, Aristotelous Square, the Roman Forum. Distinctive houses with bays, narrow streets, church of St Stephen, the main square of the city, folklore museum - let you feel the atmosphere of Macedonia. Then a visit to the birthplace of Aristotle - Stagira. Aristotle's Park is located there, where you can see models of inventions that were created over the centuries. Travel to Ouranoupoli. Free time. Cruising along the coast of the Holy Mountain of Athos - the biggest mystery of the "third finger" of the peninsula of Chalkidiki. This is the only opportunity to see the separate Theocratic Republic of Monks and the monastic ensembles, especially for women (in 1060, the Byzantine Emperor Constantine Monomachos established the decree, which forbade women entry into the republic). Since then, the border of the monastic autonomy has not been crossed by any woman. At the moment there are 20 monasteries on the peninsula, of which 17 are Greek, one Serbian, one Bulgarian, and one Russian. During the heyday of Mount Athos 20 thousand monks inhabited it, today there are approx. 1700, and there are as many lay helpers. Sithonia — a great opportunity to get to know "the second toe" of the peninsula of Chalkidiki - Sithonia.
