The fortress, dating back to the 9th century, was built on top of an extinct volcano and is the site of the Scottish Crown Jewels. A visit to the Grassmarket at the foot of the castle hill, at the statue of the faithful dog Greyfriars Bobby and at the Scottish National Museum. Walk on the Royal Mile - the main street of the old town, with its alleys, churches, shops and pubs. A tour of the city by coach, during which we will see the New Town - a Georgian district to which, after the Union with England in 1707, the wealthy inhabitants of the then cramped and uncomfortable Old Town moved; the famous doctors Joseph Lister and Alexander Fleming, the writers Robert Louis Stevenson and Arthur Conan Doyle later lived here. Drive along Princes Street Gardens, past the pseudo-Gothic monument of Sir Walter Scott, the historic Balmoral Hotel to Holyrood Palace - the residence of British monarchs in Scotland and the seat of the Scottish Parliament. 3. DAY. STIRLING - FALKIRK WHEEL - FORTH BRIDGE - ST ANDREWS
Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to STIRLING. The city went down in history when in 1297 the Scottish army led by William Wallace defeated the English there. Visiting the castle where Maria Stuart was coronated in 1543. Once the favorite residence of the Stuart dynasty, today it is considered a pearl of the Scottish Renaissance. Transfer to FALKIRK WHEEL - a rotating barge lift commissioned in 2002 is considered one of the wonders of Scottish engineering. Another is the 1890 Victorian FORTH BRIDGE, which can be seen on the way to ST ANDREWS in County Fife. Tour the ruins of the cathedral - once the largest and most magnificent cathedral in Scotland. The ruins of the cathedral against the background of the cemetery illustrate the dark atmosphere of the Reformation times. On the basis of a privilege granted by Queen Victoria, the prince has the only private army in Europe. The castle from the 13th century houses valuable collections of weapons, hunting trophies, furniture, porcelain and lace. Peacocks and deer live in the gardens. A visit to a Scotch whiskey distillery - visiting the premises where individual stages of production take place: malting, grinding, fermentation, distillation, aging, and finally the most important phase - tasting. Transfer to a hotel in the Inverness area, accommodation, overnight.
6. DAY. LOCH NESS - LOCH DUICH - ISLAND OF SKYE
Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to the ruins of Urquhart Castle, picturesquely situated on the LOCH NESS lake. An isolated castle on the rocky shore of a dark lake is a romantic and mysterious place. The unusual atmosphere is fueled by numerous legends and stories praising Nessie - a monster that has survived for millions of years in the lake. Transfer to Eilean Donan Castle on LOCH DUICH Island. The castle, erected in 1220 by the Scottish king Alexander II, retained its unique atmosphere and was the setting for the films "The Immortal" and "The World Is Not Enough". Transfer over the Skye Bridge to the ISLAND OF SKYE, where the inaccessible rocky peaks of the Cuillins dominate among the lakes and the omnipresent fog. Ride down the GLENCOE VALLEY, where in 1692 the MacDonald clan was murdered, the bloodiest event in the British Isles. Transfer to the Inverary area in Argyll and Bute counties. Visiting the INVERARAY castle, famous for its interesting combination of Baroque, Neo-Gothic and Palladian style elements. Świetna wycieczka, ciekawy program, piękne widoki i duuużo wiedzy. Plusy: pilotka Magda- kobieta encyklopedia, ma ogromną wiedzę na każdy temat związany z wycieczką, ale też poza nią, niezwykle zorganizowana i przy tym bardzo serdeczna. Fajny program, sporo przekazanej wiedzy, w tydzień objechany cały kraj, niesamowite widoki i architektura miast. Kolejny plus to czyste i zadbane hotele (z wyjątkiem jednego- hotel Imperial mocno zaniedbany, sporo kurzu i zapach pleśni). Minusy: w niektórych miejscach zbyt szybkie tempo, brak czasu na zwiedzenie muzeum w Edynburgu, chociaż to było jedno z ciekawszych miejsc w całym programie, muzeum niepodobne do żadnego innego z całą masą ciekawych obiektów do przyjrzenia się. Drugi minus to śniadania w hotelach- to nie kwestia organizatora, niestety nikt nie ma na to wpływu, ale hotelowe jedzenie było bardzo złe- prawie całkowity brak warzyw, samo przetworzone, sztuczne i niesmaczne jedzenie.

Super doświadczenie na wycieczce. Szkocja jest piękna, zamków było mnóstwo, smoków trochę mniej. Świetny, pomocny pilot Karol i super lokalni przewodnicy. Dobry standard hotelów. Nie mieliśmy wykupionych obiadokolacji, ale zawsze była okazja, żeby zjeść coś na własną rękę bez dodatkowych stresów. Jeśli ktoś się waha, a chciałby zobaczyć więcej Szkocji niż tylko Edynburg i Glasgow, to bardzo polecam. Wyspa Skye jest przepiękna, super, że jest uwzględniona w programie.

Polecam tą wycieczkę - program jest bogaty, ale znajdzie się również czas na samodzielne zwiedzanie lub drobne zakupy. Na szczęście podczas całego wyjazdu była piękna pogoda więc można było podziwiać krajobrazy również podczas przejazdów autokarem. Hotele były na dobrym poziomie, czyste i zwykle w dobrej lokalizacji. Oferowane śniadania były wystarczające do najedzenia się, jednak, przez to, że zawierały dania "brytyjskie", dla Polaków mogły być odbierane jako niezbyt zróżnicowane. Ale przecież w wyjazdach chodzi o to, aby "poczuć:" kraj, do którego przyjeżdżamy - więc pod tym względem, spełniło to moje oczekiwania.

Drogi Podróżniku, jeżeli czytasz tę opinię i zastanawiasz się nad wyruszeniem do Szkocji to się nie zastanawiaj. Wycieczka jest warta każdej złotówki, każdego pensa. Kilka argumentów, które może Ciebie przekonają: 1. Czynnik ludzki - ogromne ukłony dla pilota-przewodnika Pana Karola. Kopalnia wiedzy. Z zainteresowaniem słuchało się ciekawostek ( z humorystycznym twistem) o tym pięknym miejscu. Dodatkowo zawsze służył pomocą, wykazywał się ogromnym zaangażowaniem i co dla mnie było istotne zadbał o dyscyplinę i czas. Kierowca Paul - bardzo bezpiecznie się z nim czułam, znakomity kierowca. Last but not least lokalni przewodnicy Pan Mateusz w Edynburgu, Jock w zamku Glamis czy Chris w destylarni. 10/10 2. Absolutnie zjawiskowe zamki, gdzie każdy kamień opowiadał swoją, czasami trudną historię. Przyroda, która zapierała dech w piersi i wzruszała. Top. 5: Dolina Glencoe, wyspa Skye (chociaż krótko), zamek Dunnottar, Loch Duich, St. Andrew. 3. Noclegi. Komfortowe i z bardzo dobrym zaopatrzeniem. Hotel w Fort William też miał swój urok. 4. Program. Ciekawy, napięty program, ale również sporo wolnego czasu na samodzielnie odkrywanie różnych miejsc w Szkocji. 5. Posiłki - śniadania typowo brytyjskie, ale znajdzie się alternatywę w śniadaniu na słodko. Z obiadów nie korzystałam. 6 Minusy. Glasgow-rozczarowanie, a może już zmęczenie podróżą. Krótki pobyt na wyspie Skye czy w Dolinie Glencoe. Polecam serdecznie i dziękuję Itace za realizację marzenia i zwiększenie apetytu na ten kierunek podróży.

Program jest bardzo ciekawy, choć intensywny. Z pewnością znajdą coś dla siebie zarówno osoby zainteresowane kulturą, jak i architekturą czy pięknymi widokami Szkocji. Szczególnie należy też wyróżnić pracę pilota, p. Karola, który świetnie wszystko organizował, ale także potrafił w fajny sposób oprowadzić po zwiedzanych miejscach. Pewnym minusem był mało ciekawy program zastępczy zamiast zamku Balmoral - statek Discovery nie był zbyt porywającym miejscem. Nieszczególny pod względem standardu i obsługi był także hotel w Fort William. Ogólnie jednak zdecydowanie jest to wycieczka godna polecenia.

Pojechaliśmy zobaczyć kraj z „Outlandera”, miasto z „Reniferka” i zaznać szkockiej pogody w kratę, co pozwoliło odpocząć od afrykańskich upałów w Polsce. Przepiękna przyroda i architektura idealne dla fanów fotografii i „kolekcjonerów” pięknych miejsc. Świetna organizacja i dogodne tempo zwiedzania. Przewodniczka Pani Magda rewelacja. Otwarta, bardzo życzliwa, z poczuciem humoru i z ogromną wiedzą zarówno historyczną jak i dotycząca codziennego życia współczesnych Szkotów. Pełen profesjonalizm i godna podziwu cierpliwość do całej grupy, zwłaszcza do tych zadających dziwne pytania Planujemy ze znajomymi wrócić na własną rękę. Pozostał niedosyt.

Wycieczka bardzo dobrze zorganizowana. Bardzo dużo zwiedzania, mimo tego że zamki są motywem przewodnim każdy z nich ma swój niepowtarzalna klimat także nie czuć monotonii. Pani Magda posiada ogromną wiedzę na temat historii, legend i życia codziennego także poznajemy Szkocję z każdej strony. Pogoda mimo że na to akurat nie ma się wpływu doskonała. Dodatkowa atrakcja w postaci kwitnących wrzosów. Hotele w większości na wysokim poziomie, czyste i zadbane. Autokar nowoczesny i utrzymany w czystości przez super miłego i pomocnego kierowcę Paula. Śniadania mogłyby zostać lekko wzbogacone o coś zdrowszego, po kilku dniach już ciężko patrzeć na fasolkę i bekon. Ogólna ocena wycieczki to 8,5/10- są jeszcze rzeczy które można dopracować, ale jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni z całokształtu i stosunku ceny do jakości

Jej wiedza na temat historii Szkocji i życia wspólczesnego imponująca. Poza tym bardzo opiekuńcza i zaangażowana. Nie tylko opowiadała, ale także pokazywała filmy, puszczała audycje radiowe i piosenki. Serdecznie polecam tę wycieczkę!
